Halas Hawks U9s East put on the
performance of the week when they met league leaders Withymoor
East. With Halas lying in third place, this was a crucial game
and the lads rose to the occasion earning a thoroughly deserved
3-0 win. Two excellent goals were scored by Tom Wickstead, with
the third coming from Josh Ezewele, who also earned the man of
the match with an outstanding game in defence.
Tom’s goalscoring exploits have been attracting attention from
the local professional clubs for the last two seasons, and it is
no surprise that he will be joining Wolves next season. Halas
Hawks wish him well for the future.
The U7s East met Netherton Colts in the Merit shield and
were a goal down until Cain Smith scored the equaliser in the
last minute.
The U7s West met Stourbridge Glassboys in a friendly,
winning 5-2 with goals from Cameron Milne (2), James North,
Lewis Taylor and Alex Gardiner.
The U8s East travelled to Kewford North and came away
with a 4-1 win after goals from Danny McGovern (2), Charlie
Gregg and Jacob Lane. Man of the match went to Matt Ravenscroft.
The U8s West missed chances against
Withymoor East and lost 3-2 with man of the match, Dominic
Hipkiss getting both goals.
The U9s Dynamos had a tough game against Sedgley White
Lions going down 4-1 with their goal coming from Dan Willetts.
Man of the match went to Charlie Dudley.
The U9s North met Hasbury and had a
comfortable 7-0 win. Their goals came from Harry Wootton with a
hat trick and two each for Philip Mylona and Ben Jones. Joe
Vaughan earned man of the match.
The U10s Eagles lost their two
season long unbeaten run two weeks ago when they lost to West
Hagley, but this week they got revenge with a resounding 8-0
win. Man of the match, Jake Mace, got his hat trick and the
others came from Sam Buckley (2), Jack Ilic (2) and Jake Mullen.
In the girl’s league, the U10s
lost 2-0 to Gornal but in their second game they beat Hillcrest
2-0, with Megan Ingram getting both goals.
It was a stalemate for the U12s
against Fens Pool with neither team managing to find the net.
The U14s met Withymoor and were 3-1
up through Olivia Emerson, Lydia Bradley and Gaby Walley, who
scored from inside her own half, but Withymoor fought back in
the dying minutes to force a 3-3 draw. |
