16th October 2005

It was a crunch weekend for Halas Hawks with two of their youngest sides being involved in top of the table clashes and with both of them coming through with flying colours.

The U7s East had previously lost in a friendly to Penn Colts and were out to make amends when the two teams met again in the Stourbridge Mini-soccer League. Penn Colts took an early lead which was equalised by Captain, Cain Smith, but at half time Penn were 3-1 up. The second half saw a tremendous team effort from Halas and an unforgettable individual performance from Smith who scored twice to equal the score at 3-3. Penn again went in front only to see three more goals from Smith to seal a 6-4 win. It was no surprise to see six goal Cain Smith get man of the match.

The U8s East met Kewford East needing a win to retain top spot and they did it 4-2. New signing Danny McGovern got two with the others coming from Coby Charles and Charlie Gregg. Goalkeeper , Matthew Ravenscroft got man of the match with some excellent saves.

The U7s West lost 2-0 to Warstones Wanderers with Lewis Taylor getting man of the match and the U8s West lost by the same score to Brierley Hill Bulletts with Kamran Qureshi getting man of the match.

The U9s East drew 1-1 with Lewis Ezewele earning man of the match whilst the U10s Eagles continued their unbeaten run with a 4-1 win against Warstones Wanderers. Goals came from Nathan Myers (2), Sam Butler and man of the match, Oliver Staten.

The U11s had a comfortable 7-0 win over Brockmoor with Sam Dickens, Ryan Skipton and Ben Durrell getting a brace each and Kieron Mickelduff the other. Sam Kirk got man of the match.

The U14s drew 3-3 with Kinver Colts with goals from Steven Price, Jos Cannon and Greg Evans with James Docker getting man of the match.

In the Stourport Boys League the U16s had a 6-2 win over Kidderminster Lions. Goals came from Luke Wooldridge (2), Scott Gordon, Daniel Jones, Kieron Boulding and David Poole.

In the Stourbridge Girls League, Halas U12s had a comfortable 8 - 0 win against Withymoor Colts.
