11th December 2005

It was a successful weekend for Halas Hawks girls with both the teams in action winning their games.

The U10s girls, playing in the cup, beat Penn Colts with the only goal of the game coming from Katie Hickman, whilst in their second game, against Kewford Eagles, they won 2-1 with Katie Hickman again hitting the target together with Megan Ingram.

The U14s girls met Hillcrest and had a comfortable 5-0 win with goals from Alexia Smith (2), Kirsty Houston, Lydia Bradley and Olivia Emerson.

In the Stourbridge Mini-soccer Boys League, the U8s East remain unbeaten at the top of the table with a 5-2 win over Netherton. Dan McGovern and Charlie Gregg scored a brace each with Coby Charles getting the fifth.

The U8s West travelled to Kewford South where despite dominating the match, they found themselves two goals down before deservedly fighting back to equalise through Harry Allen and man of the match, Jack Guest.

The U9s East put on an excellent team performance, which gave them a 2-0 win over Phoenix. Ryan Davies and Reece Marks scored the goals with the man of the match award going to goalkeeper, Louis Ezewele.

The U10s Eagles also stay top of the league with a 5-0 win over Trysull Tigers. Jake Mullen got a hat trick with the others coming from Joe Smith and Sam Buckley. Man of the match went to Tom Smart.

The U11s recovered from a 1-0 half time deficit to win 3-1 against Priory Pumas. Goals were shared between Ryan Skipton, Sam Dickens and Chris Swancott with Ben Durrell getting man of the match.

The U16s were involved in a high scoring Birmingham County Cup match but went out of the competition losing 6-3 to Bowling Green Rovers. Anthony Cox, Robbie Hipkiss and Scott Williams were on target for Hawks, who send their best wishes to Bowling Green for the rest of the competition.
