Halas Hawks Ladies travelled to Continental in a must win match
against one of their nearest rivals in the title race for the
Birmingham County Womens League. The first half saw Halas in total
command scoring through Katy Monk and Tash Berry, but in their
only real attack of the half, Continental pulled one back just
before half time. The second half saw Continental come into the
game and get an equalizer, but substitute goalkeeper, Steph Parkes,
was equal to everything thrown at her. In a game which could have
gone either way, Katy Monk scored her second to give Halas a 3-2
win.
Friendlies
Halas Hawks U7s
East played Kewford Eagles and scored seven goals
through Jack Hodgetts (3), Luke Fletcher (2), Jake Burrows and
Hayden Walker. Man of the Match went to Kyro Horan who made some
spectacular saves.
The U8s West
scored four against Wordsley Wasps West with one each for Keegan
Horan, Shakiel Powell, Sam Dodd and Daryl Leddington. Man of the
match went to Kyle Winwood.
The U8s North
scored seven goals against Wombourne. There were two from James
Thacker and one each for Ben Pedley, Alex Tierney, Joshua Hinds
and Ryan Wood plus an own goal.
Girls League
Sedgeley White Lions 1 Halas Hawks 1
Kicking up the
slope against Sedgley White Lions, the U13s created numerous
chances before an excellent through ball from Abigail Gennard
found Louise Tromans, who hit an unstoppable shot into the top
corner. Unfortunately they couldn't maintain their superiority in
the second half and came under pressure. Superb goalkeeping from
Charlotte Parry maintained Halas' lead until a melee in the box
led to Sedgeley grabbing an equalizer to make the final score 1-1.
Bridgnorth Spartans 0 Halas Hawks 3
A great hat trick by Charis Maguire secured all three points
against Bridgnorth for the U15s. The second goal was an
outstanding effort, and there was a great display in defence
especially from Summer Archer. But it was a fantastic game by all
the girls who were playing with only seven players.
Boys League
Withymoor 0 Halas Hawks East 0
The U9s East had an end to end game at Withymooor which saw both
sides create and miss opportunities to win the match. A 0-0 draw
was a fair result. Man of the match was shared between Dan
Richards and goalkeeper, Isaac Gould.
Halas
Hawks East 1 CS Colts 2
The U10s East suffered their first defeat since October against a
strong CS Colts side who deservedly took all three points in a 2-1
win. CS took the lead in the first half, but Halas hit back and
equalised from a Charlie Greening penalty. CS had the better of
the second half and scored the winner. Man of the match went to
keeper, Sam Ball, who kept Halas in the game with a series of
saves.
Sedgley Scorpions 4 Halas Hawks West
1
The U11s West travelled to Sedgley Scorpions and conceded two
early goals. A third goal before half time gave Halas a mountain
to climb but they got a well deserved goal from Jack MacFarlane
before Sedgley scored a breakaway goal to seal a 4-1 win. Man of
the match went to Jack Bissell.
Halas Hawks 3 West Hagley 0
The U12s took on West Hagley winning 3-0 with goals from Mohammed
Mohammed (2) and Nick Bennett. Man of the match went to Joshua
Hanson.
Halas Hawks 4 Trysull Tigers East 0
The U13s earned a deserved three points with a 4-0 victory against
Trysull. The first half saw a stalemate but the second half saw
Halas take over and Connor Fisher opened the scoring. Two goals
from Dylan Keeling and another from Fisher gave Halas a 4-0 win.
Man of the match was shared between Josh Rogers and Callum Hughes
for sterling efforts in goal and midfield.
Kewford South 2 Halas Hawks 3
The U14s travelled to Kewford South where two early goals from
Kewford put Halas on the back foot before Jack Guest reduced the
deficit. The second half saw Halas take a grip of the game with
Liam Holmes equalizing and Dominic Hipkiss scoring the winner with
a well worked goal. Man of the match went to William Clement.
Halas Hawks 3 Howley Grange 1
The U15s East returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory against
Howley Grange. Goals arrived from a Dan Willetts penalty along
with excellent strikes from Rhys Boswell and Jake Walley.
Halas Hawks 4 Hagley West 2
An excellent start by the U17s against Hagley West saw them create
numerous chances, but the deadlock was broken by Mitch Wells,
followed by a second from Joe Powell. A third goal was added by
Alex Chappel to make it a comfortable 3-0 at the break. Hagley
then pulled two back but the points were secured with a fourth
Halas goal from Kieran Hillsdon.
Halas Hawks 2 Castle Vale 0
Two goals, one in each half from in form striker, Marc Perry, took
Halas U18s through to the Quarter Finals of the prestigious
Birmingham County Youth Cup.
