solid 3-1 victory against Lightwood Lions with Hannah Fellows
getting all three goals.
Gornal 3 Halas Hawks
1
The U13 girls
unbeaten run came to an end when they went down 3-1 to a talented
Gornal. Despite missing several chances and hitting the post,
Sophie Blount was the lone scorer
Halas Hawks 1 Withymoor Colts 3
A very entertaining game of football as the U15 girls took on top
of the league Withymoor. Halas took the game to the visitors,
outplaying them on all parts of the field, but the difference
between the two teams was the clinical finishing in front of goal
which saw Withymoor win the game 3-1. Liz McAleenan scored a
fantastic free kick for Halas, but player of the match was keeper
Olivia Woollams.
Boys League
Halas Hawks
North 3 Wombourne 2
A fantastic
team performance from the U9s North saw them take a two goal lead
against Wombourne, the first scored by Jake Crackett, followed
by a screamer of a goal from Aston Snook. Wombourne pulled back to
level the score, but Halas continued to battle and were rewarded
with a winning goal from Ben Palmer, who was also man of the
match.
Halas Hawks
West 2 Halesowen Harriers 2
The U9s West
fell behind to a goal from Halesowen Harriers in the first half
but fought back to get an equaliser from Sam Bulmer. The second
half saw Halas take the lead with a lovely chip from Nathan Reed
but with the game seemingly won, Halesowen Harriers managed to get
an equaliser with minutes to go.
Halas
Hawks East 5 Gornal 3
With Halas Hawks U9 East still
looking for their first win of the season, Gornal Colts visited
the City Rd pitch on a bright sunny day.
With only 7 boys available due
to the absense of Declan Weaver, Halas started brightly and took
the lead with a fine Rickio Fairin-Hall volley from a Charlie
Greening Corner.
Charlie made it 2 - 0 from
another corner with the Gornal keeper fumbling the ball in at
the near post. Keeper Josh Smith had to be alert from a stike
from the Gornal forward before Oliver Miller struck late in the
first half to give Halas a deserved 3 - 0 lead
The second half started as the
first half had finished with Halas having more of the
play, Oliver Miller struck with 2 more goals to make it 5 - 0
before the 30 minute mark. With Gornal pushing 2 men upfront
Halas somewhat panicked and Gornal came back with 3 goals -
Halas however stood firm to get their first much deseversed win
of the season. Joshua Yorke, Louie Jones & Tom Baker deserve a
mention for playing their part in a great Halas performance, Man
of the match went to Rickio Fairin-Hall who whilst having a
great game on the right hand side got his first goal of the
season and also Oliver Miller who caused chaos upfront and got a
well deserved hat-trick.
Withymoor North 1
Halas Hawks East 6
Withymoor gave a very creditable performance against Halas U10s
East, who eased past them into the next round with a 6-1 win.
James Riggy scored the first two with Joshua Parsons adding a
third. Further goals came from Jordan Ward and Josh Parsons, who
completed his hat trick.
Halas Hawks 2
Bearwood 2
The U11s
drew 2-2 against top of the table Bearwood Sports with goals from
Mohammed Yafai and Matthew Evans.
Sedgley 1
Halas Dynamos 4
A below par
performance from the U12 Dynamos saw them miss a penalty and a
host of easy chances before taking the lead through Jack
Blunt before Sedgley pulled level. Jordan Boffey quickly restored
the lead before half time and the 4-1 win was sealed with goals
from
Dalmar
Morrison and Chris Priest. Man of the match went to Harry Vine.
Dudley
Juniors 2 Halas Hawks 1
The U12s
West were unlucky not to get anything out of a close fought
contest against Dudley Juniors who took the lead direct from a
corner and Halas found themselves two down just after half time.
Halas continued to create chances and pulled one back through
Dillon Kealing, but couldnt get an equaliser. Man of the match was
awarded to Jimmy North.
Halas Hawks 2
Oldswinford 1
The U14s East remain
in the top four after beating Oldswinford 2-1. After a superb
first half which saw Louis Ezewele and Dan Willetts score headers,
the lads took their foot off the gas in the second half. However,
they were always in control and should have added to their lead
but hit the crossbar 3 times and forced the Oldswinford keeper
into a host of fine saves.
Brierley Hill 0
Halas Hawks 1
An entertaining U15s
game saw Halas Hawks having the better chances in the first half
against Brierley Hill Bullets and a composed goal taken by Dominic
Potter gave Halas a half time lead. In the second half Bullets
came back strongly, however Halas deservedly maintained the lead.
Man of the match was Lewis Bradley.
Ladies
Higham 0 Halas Hawks
Ladies 4
A depleted Halas
Ladies traveled to Nuneaton to take on Higham, but they still made
most of the play and should have made the game comfortable by half
time, but had to settle for a one goal lead at that stage. Shortly
before half time, Halas went down to nine players after losing
Catherine Barratt with a knee injury, but this spurred on the rest
of the ladies and they went on to win 4-0 with a brace of goals
each for Jody Jones and Becky Allsopp.
