Halas Hawks East 0 Dudley United 0
Halas won 3-2 on penalties.
Following a thoroughly entertaining end to end game, this U10's
League Cup Final saw the U10s East in their second penalty shoot
out in as many weeks, with the game finishing scoreless after
extra time. Unlike the previous one however, they kept their nerve
to deservedly take the Cup! The main match was notable for some
excellent performances from Ffion Jones, Mia Davies, who scored
the winning penalty, Louise Tromans, Abigail Gennard and player of
the match Shannon Stamps.
Gornal South 0 Halas Hawks West 2
Gornal South gave a great performance against the U10s West and
defended their goal well. The first goal came when Charlotte
Davies blasted home a lovely through ball from Jessie Garfield.
Charlotte Davies also scored the second goal to make the final
score 2-0. This was an entertaining game of football from both
teams with some excellent saves from the Halas goalkeeper, Laura
Cartwright.
Angels 1 Halas Hawks 6
The U13s booked themselves a place in the Merit Shield final with
this 6-1 win over Angels. It took just ten seconds for Halas to
take the lead through Lauren Taylor. Further goals came from
Elizabeth McAleenan, Megan Ingram (2), Rhianne Murray and a second
from player of the match, Lauren Taylor.
Hillcrest Girls 1 Halas Hawks East 2
The U16s East came out as 2-1 winners in this thrilling top of the
table clash, played in competitive spirit between the two teams.
Kirsty Houston broke the deadlock, to give Halas the lead, with
ten minutes of the game remaining. Hillcrest then piled on the
pressure, before equalising with one minute to play. The Halas
girls didn't let their heads drop and fought back to earn a
corner, two minutes into injury time, from which Kirsty headed the
winner. Goalkeeper, Elizabeth Cullwick, kept Halas in the game
with some excellent saves.

West 6 Pensnett Panthers 2
Against the run of play, Pensnett took an early lead but the U16s
West replied almost immediately and they gradually took control
against spirited opposition. Pascall Windross scored her first
hat-trick showing some brilliant individual skills. Others on
target were Shanice Mayers, Jade Blount and Katie Wilkes in a 6-2
win.

Halas Hawks
West 1 Wordsley Wasps 1
|The U9s West went out with a positive attitude against Wordsley
Wasps and knew it would be a tough match. They started very well
with some great defensive work, but it was Wordsley who scored the
first goal. Halas kept their heads up and James Churchill stepped
up to score the equalizer from a stunning free-kick which flew
into the top corner. Man of the match went to Adam Dethridge.
Penn Colts North 0 Halas Dynamos 9.
Halas produced an exhibition of football in a 9-0 victory over
Penn Colts North. The goalscorers were Jordan Boffey (2), Jake
Saxton (2), Reece Colley (2), Josh Wheeler (2), and Jack Blunt.
The man of the match award went to Alex Gardener.
Halas Hawks 1 Kewford North 1
Halas battled their way to a much deserved point with a 1-1 draw
against the league leaders, Kewford North. Cameron Milne put Halas
in front but Kewford levelled soon afterwards. Again Halas’ effort
and commitment were excellent.
Halas Hawks 4 Wombourne 0
The U11s entertained Wombourne and were one up at half time
through Adam Baker, but a second half hat trick from Jack Guest
gave them a 4-0 win. Man of the match went to Deon Patel.
Gornal 3 Halas Hawks 1
The U12s East lost 3-1 in the South Staffs cup quarter final to
Gornal Colts. Goal scorer Josh Ezewele was also awarded man of the
match.
Friendlies
The game started a couple of minutes too early for the Hawks West
team who found themselves a goal down very early on. However, they
began to control the game almost immediately afterwards. Goals
came from George Silk, Josh Wyman and Farren Brown, who was also
named as Man of the Match. |
