Warley 0 Halas
Hawks 6
The U12s East recorded a thoroughly deserved 6-0 victory at Warley
Borough. The boys set the tone early on with some lovely free
flowing football and the goals soon followed. Dan Willetts and a
Kane Campbell double made it 3-0 at half time. After the break the
boys continued where they left off and goals came from Jake Walley,
another from Willetts and a first Hawks goal for recent signing
Josh Rai. Man of the match went to Josh March.
Himley Colts 1
Halas Hawks 0
The U13s had a well fought out match against Himley, with both
teams having chances, however Halas were narrowly beaten by a
single Himley goal. An even game with all players working hard and
with Halas deserving at least a point. A fine performance by Luke
Beautrup earned him the man of the match.
Halas Hawks
2 Martley 0
The U14s were at home to Martley and in awful weather conditions
the game was fairly even with a few half chances to Halas in the
first half, with guy Millward clipping the bar and Chris Swancott
shooting just wide. In the second half Halas continued to pressure
the Martley goal, with a good run & effort from Tom Stevens and
Scott Pope hitting a post. The breakthrough came with 15 mins to
go when Sam dickens latched onto a great pass from midfield and
smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Martley continued to
play football but the Halas defence stood up to everything thrown
at them. With 5 mins to go Adam Hodges finished a free flowing
move from left to right with a drilled effort into the bottom left
hand corner to make the final score 2-0.
Withymoor Colts 4
Halas Hawks 3
In very heavy conditions the U15s found themselves in unfamiliar
territory, being 4-1 behind at half time to Withymoor. In
the second half Halas came on very strong to make the score line
4-3 but with only minutes remaining the decisions didn't favour
the Hawks, having two goals disallowed, and there was no further
score. This was a gallant effort from a depleted squad. The Halas
goal scorers were Josh Spencer, Alex Dudley, from a superbly hit
free kick, and Edward Leeson. Man of the match went to Luke Sadler
for his brave display in goal.

Gornal South 0 Halas
Hawks 2
The U10s East continued their fine start to the season with a hard
fought win against a vastly improved Gornal side in this merit
shield game. Louise Tromans broke the deadlock mid-way through the
second half before a long range effort from Abigail Gennard
confirmed the win.
Wordsley Wasps 1
Halas Hawks 3
The first half saw the U13s slow to get into their stride and
Wordsley took the lead before Lauren Taylor made it all square
just before half time. After the break Halas were a completely
different team and dominated with another goal from Lauren and a
well taken chance from Sophie Kinsey to ensure victory. Player of
the match was Cara Tromans.
Gornal 0 Halas
Hawks 6
The U16s East came up against a spirited Gornal side. The game
started with both sides competing well and creating chances. The
heavy pitch meant that attractive football was never going to be
in abundance, but Halas adapted to the conditions well and went
into the half time break three nil up through Olivia Emerson,
Rebekah Trevis-Smith and Kirsty Houston. The Halas girls continued
to play the conditons well in the second half and added a further
three goals. Olivia and Kirsty doubled their goal tally before
Catherine Barrett added the sixth. Gornal continued to battle, but
a good defensive performance from Hayley Smith contributed to the
clean sheet.
Halas Hawks 1
Kewford 1
The U16s West took control of the game when Sophie Leak scored her
first goal of the season after only two minutes into the game. The
first half saw Halas with most of the possession and numerous
chances to score. Kewford came back in the second half, but Halas
fought hard to defend their lead with excellent defending,
particularly from Zoe Emery and Steph Wem, The girls were
unfortunate to concede a contested penalty in the final 15
minutes, which resulted in both teams sharing the points. |
