Girls league
Halas Hawks West 0 Halas Hawks East 6
It was East meets West for the Halas Hawks U10s girls with the
East team running out 6-0 winners. The early exchanges were very
even with both defences on top until East finally broke the
deadlock with a goal by Amy Plimmer, who went on to score three
more. The second half began very evenly and it wasn't until a very
unfortunate own-goal that the score-line was affected again. West
continued to battle gamely, although they couldn't prevent a
further goal by Abigail Gennard.
Halas Hawks 0 Kewford Eagles South 4
The U11s fought valiantly against a strong Kewford South. Despite
some fantastic saves, Kewford went two goals up before injury struck the Halas keeper,
who was replaced by Chelsea Dudson. There was an excellent performance from a
much improved Megan Hipkiss, but Kewford went on to net two more
to make the final score 4-0.
Withymoor 0 Halas Hawks 5
The U12s had an excellent start to the season against Withymoor
with a great team effort, despite being one player short. Great
passing moves were followed by goals from Abbey Willingale (2),
Elisha Rose (2) and Beth Sharkey, giving them a 5-0 win.
Halas Hawks 7 Wordsley Wasps 0 .
It was a fantastic result for the U13s against Wordsley Wasps in
their first game of the season and first time on a full size
pitch, which saw the girls have a lot of the play and going
forward well. Goals from Liz McAleenan, Megan Ingram, Lauren
Taylor, Bethany Ingram, Fallon Williams and two from Rhianne
Murray secured all three points. Player of the match was Katie
Hickman.
Halas Hawks 5 Withymoor 1
After improving their squad from last season, the U16s West proved
too much for an understrength Withymoor team, earning a 5-1 win,
with goals from Shanice Mayers, Jade Blount, Bethany Hall, ‘Tash’
Berry and Katie Wilkes.
Halas Hawks 3 Kewford 2
The U16s East made hard work of their game against Kewford, who
equalised Olivia Emerson's opening goal to make it 1-1 at half
time. The second half saw the introduction of Kirsty Houston whose
two goals made the game safe for Halas. Kewford scored a
consolation goal in the dying minutes to make the final scoreline
3-2.
Boys league
Halas
Hawks 6 Hasbury 8
The U7s West gave away early goals in their friendly with Hasbury,
but although they recovered well, they went down 8-6. Goals came
from Josh Wyman (2), Farren Brown (2), George Silk and Cavan
Smart.
Gornal
Colts 4 Halas Hawks 2
It was always going to be a tough match for the U8s West against a
strong Gornal team, but Halas started strongly with some good
attacking football. However, giving away two early goals put Halas
under pressure. Halas came back well with a good goal from
newcomer, Matt Coal, finishing the first half 2-1 down.
Both teams started strongly in the second half with Halas pushing
for the equaliser. However, Gornal took advantage of two swift
counter attacks scoring two quick goals. Nevertheless, Halas kept
fighting and with some strong defending from Adam Banks and a late
consolation goal from Josh Parsons, Halas finished the match
strongly and were unlucky not to pick up another goal. A good all
round performance. Man of the Match - Adam Banks.
Withymor Colts West 4 Halas 2
The U9s West got off to a great start against Withymoor with a
well taken volley by player of the match, Shannon Stamps, but
Withymoor came back strongly to take a 4-1 lead before a great
free kick from goalkeeper James Churchill made it 4-2.
Brierley Hill Bullets 1 Halas Dynamos 9
An excellent
team performance today saw the U10 Dynamos take three points from
Brierley Hill Bullets with a 9-1 win. Jake Saxton set the pace
with a great headed goal, his first of four. Jimmy Williams
produced a man of the match performance, scoring a hat-trick, with
the other goals coming from Lewis Sidebottom and Connor Smith.
Halas Hawks 0 Wordsley 5
A battling display from the U10s West wasn’t enough to gain there
first points of the season, going down 5-0 to a good Wordsley
side. Although they showed plenty of commitment and worked hard as
a team, it wasn’t enough. Man of the match went to James North.
Halas Hawks 12 Arley Kings 1
For the second week running, the U14s scored 12 goals, this time
notching up a 12-1 win against Arley Kings. Goals came from Sam
Dickens (4), Adam Hodges (2), Ben Hughes (2), Scott Pope, Guy
