League
Halas East 2 Gornal South 0
This final
qualifying round of the U10 Girls League Cup saw a much changed
Halas side come up against a resolute Gornal team. A goal by Amy
Plimmer set them on their way before a superb free kick by Esme
Moran ensured the victory.
Halas East 3 Gornal South 0
Despite some fine
goalkeeping and dogged defence by Gornal, first half goals by
Francesca Hancox and Shannon Stamps saw Halas take a two goal half
time lead in this U10 league game. The second half followed the
same pattern as the first with Amy Plimmer making certain of the
points.
Halas Hawks 2
Gornal West 1
The U12s gave away an early lead to Gornal which was cancelled out
by a great cross from Jess Morton and pressure from Beth Sharkey
forcing an equaliser. The game continued to be hard fought from
end to end but Halas pressure paid off with a great goal from Beth
Sharkey in the second half. There were some fine saves from stand
in keeper Danielle Lawrence, which capped a fine all round
performance from all the players.
Halas Hawks 1
Wordsley Wasps 1.
The U13s began the game well with plenty of pressure on the
Wordsley goal getting their reward 15 minutes in when player of
the match Bethany Ingram started a run from midway in her own
half, went round two players before neatly slotting the ball past
the keeper. However it was one of those days when the team kept
playing themselves into trouble and Wordsley equalised midway
through the second half. The 1-1 draw was a fair reflection of the
game.
Kingswinford 5
Halas Hawks 2
The strong wind was
the deciding factor in an otherwise evenly contested match between
the U16s and Kingswinford. Lauren Pearson opened the scoring after
only four minutes and a game of two halves ensued with Halas
winning the first half and Kingswinford winning the second. All
but one of the goals were scored in the goal to where the wind was
blowing. Katie Wilkes was the second Hawks player on target in a
5-2 defeat.
Boys League
Halas Hawks West 1
Trysull Tigers East 1
The U10s West were unlucky not to come away with all three points
against Trysull having been on top for most of the game, and
taking the lead through Luke Harborne. Trysull equalized with the
last kick of the game. Man of the match was shared between Jamie
Theodosi and Jimmy North.
Halas Dynamos 1
Withymoor East 0
The U10s Dynamos seemed a bit lethargic against Withymoor East but
still came close to scoring on a few occasions. The only goal of
the game came from Jake Saxton with just seconds remaining. The
man of the match was Reece Colley.
Halas Hawks 2
Forest Falcons 2
The U11s were
involved in a very competitive game against a good Forest Falcons
side who went into a two goal lead before Halas clawed their way
back into the game, with goals from Sam Jones and Jack Guest,
earning a well earned 2-2 draw. Man of the match went to Jack
Bagley.
Withymoor 2 Halas
Hawks 4
The under 12s east
produced a dominant and classy performance to beat Withymoor West
4-2. Hawks raced into a four goal lead thanks to Louis Ezewele,
Josh Ezewele, Jake Walley and Josh March. The lads took their foot
off the gas in the second half but were well worthy of the
victory.
Halas Hawks 4
Martley 2
The U14s met
Martley coming away with a 4-2 win with goals from Sam Dickens,
Scott Pope, Ben Hughes and Chris Swancott.
Pensnett Panthers 0
Halas Hawks 3
The U15s marched to
their twelfth win on the bounce with a 3-0 win away to an
improving Pensnett Panthers Team. Goals came from Naiem Yafei,
Charlie Price and Alex Dudley. Man of the match went to Charlie
Price for his robust performance at the heart of the Halas attack.
Friendlies
A close fought
game between Withymoor West and Halas U7s West saw two evenly
matched teams play out a very exciting match. Both teams had
several chances and Halas goalie Josh Matthews made a couple of
fine saves. George Silk blasted home a penalty just before
half-time after being pushed over in the area. The second half
proved just as competitive with man of the match being jointly
awarded to Cavan Smart and Farren Brown.
Halas Hawks U7s
east entertained Warstone Wanderers Wolves. Halas scored six goals
in an entertaining game. The goals came from Morgan Rogers 2,
Taylor Nolan 2, Joshua Yorke and Nathan Read. Man of the match
went to Charlie Greening.
