Stourbridge Glass Boys 1 Halas Hawks 1
Halas Hawks U8s West fought out a 1-1 draw against a strong Stourbridge
Glass Boys. Halas went one up through Cameron Keenan but then had to
soak up heavy pressure before conceding a late equalizer. Man of the
match went to Jonty Round.
Halas Hawks 1 Brierley Hill 2
The U10s lost a close game against Brierley Hill Bullets and the score
line could have been different had they taken their chances, but a
deflected own goal gave Bullets the points in a 2-1 win. The Halas goal
came from James Harper with Charlie Bagley getting man of the match.
Wordsley Wasps 4 Halas Hawks 2
The U11s twice took the lead against Wordlsey through Jon Rizzo and man
of the match, Dan Willetts, but they couldn’t keep up the tempo and lost
4-2.
Sedgley 3 Halas Hawks 0
The U13s went down 3-0 at Sedgley Scorpions with man of the match going
to Chris Swancott.
Sedgley 3 Halas Hawks 6
The U14s also met Sedgley and put together a very determined performance
to take all three points against a well-organised Sedgley team. The man
of the match was awarded to Edward Leeson for his wonderful display on
the left of midfield and scoring one of the six goals. Other goal
scorers were Jamie Hewitt, Adam Reece, Naiem Yafia, Josh Spencer and a
long range effort from Drew Jones.
Kidder Ath 0 Halas Hawks 3
The U16s dominated their game from start to finish at Kidderminster and
thoroughly deserved their 3-0 win, with goals from Greg Evans, Jay Gould
and Craig Law.
Girls League
Gornal Girls 0 Halas Hawks 3
This tightly contested merit shield semi-final saw the U10s East take a
first half lead
through Abigail Gennard, after some fine approach work by Amy Plimmer
and Louise
Edgerton. Gornal continued to battle but two further goals by Sophie
Blunt and
Louise, combined with good defensive displays by Esme Moran, Mia Davies
and
Ffion Jones saw Halas reach next week's final.
Halas Hawks 1 Withymoor 4
Despite going three goals down in the first 15 mins the U12s battled
back in a thrilling game . The Halas goal came just after half time from
joint player of the match Rhianne Murray after a long period of pressure
in the opponents half. But they were unable to add to their score and
had the forth scored against them in the closing minutes. The other
joint player of the match was Chloe Cameron.
Withymoor 5 Halas Hawks 2
Unfortunate deflections led to two own goals from the U14s and despite
some impressive play in the second half, they went out of the Merit
Shield after losing to Withymoor 5-2. Halas goals came from Bethany Hall
and Katie Wilkes.
Halas Hawks 0 Kingswinford 1
The U16s also crashed out of the merit shield after losing by the only
goal of the match against Kingswinford.
