Boys league
Warstones North 2 Halas Hawks 1
Halas Hawks U8s West travelled to Warstones where they lost a close
fought game 2-1. Halas came back from two down with a goal from Cameron
Keenan but a Shannon Stamps shot that hit the woodwork was the closest
they got to an equalizer. Man of the match went to Harrison Budd.
Withymoor West 0 Halas Hawks 7
The U8s East had a comfortable 7-0 win over Withymoor Colts West with
Matthew Hancox, Jake Gilson and Tom Bolton getting a brace each, with
the other coming from Dan Deeley. Man of the match went to Nick
Clayton-Phillips for an excellent display between the sticks.
Halas Hawks 1 Trysull Tigers 2
A sluggish first half saw the U9s West go two down before a much
improved second half saw Matt Jones pull a goal back, but Trysull held
on to win 2-1. Man of the match went to Jack Evans
Legion Lions 0 Halas Hawks 4
The U9s Dynamos travelled to Legion Lions and dominated the first half
after an early goal from Constance Scofield put them in control. James
Williams made it 2-0 at half time. Williams scored his second of the
game early in the second half and Lewis Taylor scored a trademark
poachers goal in the dying minutes to make it 4-0. Player of the match
went to Lewis Sidebottom.
Halas Hawks North 5 Trysull 0
A hugely entertaining performance from the U11's North resulted in a
well deserved 5-0 win over Trysull East. There was a goal each for Rory
Ellis, Calum Pearson, Ben Jennings, Joe Brass and one for man of the
match Christian Herbert
Halas Hawks 1 Gornal 3
The U11s East went one up against Gornal with a goal from Josh March,
but missed chances to make sure of the points and then allowed Gornal to
come back into the game, which they won 3-1. Reece Marks got man of the
match.
Withymoor South 1 Halas Hawks 7
The U12s turned on the style with an impressive performance from the
entire squad against Withymoor South. Two early penalties from Jack
Davis and four more from Luke Patton (2), Joe Ward and Jack Hipkiss gave
Hawks an unassailable 6-1 half time score. Halas continued to play good
football, but could only add one more to their tally, a belter from
Nathan Whitehouse. Joe Ward earned man of the match.
Bartley Green 1 Halas Hawks 6
Four goals from man of the match, Jack Hudson, led the U13s to a 6-1 win
against Bartley Green Panthers. In an all round excellent team
performance Sam Dickens and Adam Hodges rounded off the scoring.
Halas Hawks 1 MNG Milanco 0
A fantastic team effort and an individual goal from Jamie Hewitt gave
the U14s a well earned three points against MNG Milanco. Man of the
match went to Alex Dudley for another outstanding performance in defence.
Girls League
Halas Hawks West 0 Gornal Girls 2
Despite a spirited team performance, the under 10's West went down to a
much improved Gornal team in the Merit Shield. Lucy Busby, Louise
Edgerton and Ciara Robinson-Morris put in some excellent work, but to no
avail.
Withymoor 1 Halas Hawks East 2
In a highly competitive game between two evenly matched teams, the U10s
East came out on top in this Merit Shield match. Louise Troman's first
half goal, her first for the team, was the difference between the teams
at half-time. The second half saw East extend their lead through a
free-kick by the excellent Sophie Blount before a late goal by Withymoor,
gave the score line an accurate reflection of the match as a whole.
Halas Hawks 7 Netherton 0
The U11s had an emphatic 7-0 victory over Netherton. A hat-trick from
Beth Sharkey and further super strikes from Eleshia Rose (2), Amy
Blakemore and Paige Dudley set up the girls' biggest win of the season.
Halas Hawks 13 Tipton 1
The U12s hit the ground running from the first whistle with an early
goal and after that did not look back . A great display of individual
skill and teamwork with wave after wave of attack culminated in Liz
McAleenan (7), Rhianne Murray and player of the match Megan Ingram (5)
all getting on the score sheet.
Halas Hawks 2 West Hagley 6
Injuries and other commitments meant that the U14s had to field an
understrength side against West Hagley. Despite an excellent performance
from goalkeeper, sophie Leak, they went down 6-2. Goal scorers were
Bethany Hall and Lauren Pearson
Halas Hawks 1 Kingswinford 4
A severely depleted U16s fought bravely in this merit shield match
against Kingswinford girls. Despite only having 9 fit players, and being
4 – 0 down at half time, the girls never let their heads drop and came
out battling in the second half. Elizabeth Richards scored a much
deserved consolation goal in their first defeat in 12 matches.
