Girls League Cup
Halas Hawks 1 v Withymoor 4 .
Halas Hawks U12s girls played in the first League Cup Final of the
season and in a very
entertaining match against a Withymoor side that has not lost this
season, the girls put in a tremendous effort, and although the 4-1
defeat does not reflect it, they pushed their opponents all the way to
the final whistle. Rhianne Murray scored the Halas goal .
Kingswinford 0 Halas Hawks 0
The U15s also starred in the cup final against an ever-improving
Kingswinford side, who should have taken a first half lead through a
penalty, but which was well saved by the Halas keeper, Kym Bennett. The
rest of the game saw very few chances and it was no surprise that the
game drew a stalemate even after extra time. The resultant penalty shoot
out saw Kingswinford win the game with some well taken penalties. Player
of the match was awarded to the Halas captain, Kirsty Houston.
