Last weekend was cup week for the Stourbridge League and led to some high
scores from some of the Halas Hawks teams.

The under 7s East led the way with a 17-1 win over Warstones. Nick
Clayton-Philips got seven with the others coming from Jake Gilson (3), Jack
Layton (2), Michael Ly (2). Dan Kelly (2) and Matthew Hancox.

The under 8s Dynamos travelled to Gornal Colts South and came away with a 7-0
win with goals from James Williams (5), Jacob Stewart and player of the match
Constance Scofield.

The under 8s East met Rio Saints and a Jordan Staten hat trick set them up for
an 8-2 win. Also on target was Bradley Cox, Cain Smith, Ben Clarke, Harry
Weston and Dan Cartwright.

The under 10s East were involved in the most exciting match against
Kingswinford. Alex Smith put Halas in the lead but Kingswinford came back to
take a 2-1 lead. With time running out, Alex smith scored from a long free
kick, with what proved to be the last kick of the match. In the penalty shoot
out that followed Ryan Taylor earned his man of the match award with some
tremendous saves which saw Halas go through to the next round.

The under 10s Dynamos went into a 3-1 lead against Pensnett Panthers through
goals from Luke Sadler, Jamie Hewitt and a stunning free kick from Alex
Dudley. Late into the second half saw Panthers came more into the game
resulting in two late goals, the game finishing 3-3.

The under 11s had been missing chances galore in previous weeks but made up
for it in their match against Hasbury Rangers Colts with a 12-1 win. Goals
from Jack Davis (4), Joe Ward (3), Luke Patton (3), Daniel Scarret and Danny
Hodges secured an emphatic win. Man of the match went to the hard working Joe
Ward.

The under 12s drew 1-1 with Forest Falcons with Cameron Richards getting the
goal and Carrick Russell man of the match.

In the Stourbridge girls league, the under 10s scored two second half goal
through Hannah Sharkey and Paige Dudley to beat Gornal.

The under 12s East drew 1-1 with Kewford North thanks to a goal from Eve
McGlynn whilst both under 14s kept up their pressure on the league leaders
with the East team winning 20-0 against Withymoor East and the West team
winning 6-2 against West Hagley.
Scorers for the East were Charlotte Rowbottom (7), Olivia Emerson (6)
Lydia Bradley (4) and Kirsty Houston (3). On target for the West team were
Katie Wilkes (2), Shanice Mayers, Rebehah Trevis–Smith, Lil Crawshaw and
Lauren Pearson.
