It was a full house for
Halas Hawks girls last weekend with the four teams registering wins of 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 and 6-0.
The under 12s East led the way with a 6-0 win over Fens Pool. Eve McGlynn got
a hat trick, Rhianne Murphy got two and the other came from Maisie Allen.
The under 12s West won 3-0 against Wordsley Wasps with Kate Duffy, Megan
Ingram and Elizabeth McAleenan hitting the target.
The under 14s East found it difficult to break down Gornal’s defence, but when
Olivia Emerson broke the deadlock they went on to win 4-0 with further goals
from Kirsty Houston, Charlotte Rowbottom and Gaby Walley.
The under 14s West went one better against Kewford scoring five without reply
through Rebekah Trevis-Smith, Katie Wilkes, Shanice Mayers, Stacey Jones and
Sophie Leak.
In the boys league, the under 7s West again did enough to at least snatch a
point but lost 2-1 to Kewford. Matt Evans got their goal with Shannon Stamps
getting player of the match.
The under 8s East entertained Netherton and were made to work hard for their
5-2 win. Cain Smith and man of the match, Ben Clarke, got a brace each, with
Jordan Staten weighing in with the fifth.
The under 8s Dynamos had a friendly against Withymoor Colts East and put on an
excellent display to win 6-1. Man of the match, James Williams got four with
Alex Gardener getting two.
It was a fifth straight win for the under 9s who beat Longbridge by the only
goal of the game scored by Dominic Hipkiss. Man of the match went to Ronan
Thompson.
The under 10s Dynamos drew 1-1 with Trysull who snatched an equaliser in the
dying minutes after Jake Walley had put Dynamos in the lead. Joe Kelly earned
man of the match.
The under 10s North lost 4-1 to Wordsley with their goal coming from a Lucy
Adderley penalty. Rory Ellis got man of the match.
The under 10s East also lost by the same score, after a disappointing
performance against Withymoor West. Their goal also came from a penalty scored
by Reece Marks.
The under 11s met top of the table Penn Colts, who took an early lead, but
Halas never gave up and a 5-2 defeat didn’t reflect the pressure that Penn
were put under for long spells of the game. Their goals came from Alex
Theodosi and man of the match, Jack Davis.
