Halas Hawks Under 7's East battled to a 2-0 victory over Stourbridge Glassboys
West in the penultimate game of the season. The game looked to be heading for
a goalless draw until a moment of magic by man of the match Dan Deeley gave
them the lead with only minutes remaining. Jake Gilson added a second in the
dying moments to give Hawks a 2-0 victory.
The under 7s West were four down at half time against Withymoor East, but a
second half comeback saw them score through Cameron Keenan, Shannon Stamps and
George Hands. They were unable to find the equalizer and another goal from
Withymoor made the final score 5-3. Matt Evans got man of the match.
The under 8s West put on a brilliant display of ball control and passing which
culminated in a richly deserved 5-1 win over Withymoor Colts, with goals from
Cameron Milne (3), James North and Ellis Meredith. Man of the Match went to
Jack Willetts for an outstanding performance in defence.
The under 10s Dynamos showed graet character against Trysull West coming back
from two down to draw 2-2 with a brilliant second half display. Halas goals
were scored by Ryan Firth and, man of the match, Joe Kelly.
The under 10s East lost 3-2 to Gornal Colts in a very good match.. Halas went
three down but this spurred the lads into action scoring 2 goals through Jon
Rizzo and Reece Marks and really dominating the second half. Unfortunately
they couldn't find an equalizer. Man of the match went to Jon Rizzo who was
outstanding.
The entire under 12s team won the man of the match award with an excellent all
round team performance, which gave them a 3-1 win over Quinton Eagles with
goals from Sam Dickens (2) and Cameron Richards.
The under 13s also put in a great team effort, which saw them win by the same
3-1 scoreline against MNG Trianco. Halas goals were scored by Luke Sadler (2)
and man of the match, Alex Dudley.
The under 15s had an end to end game against Hadley Rangers and were another
team who had to come from behind, scoring three goals in the last 20 minutes
to win 5-4. Goals were shared between man of the match, Craig Law, Matthew
Jackson, Mark Totten, Josh Haskey and Matthew Williams.
In the girls league all four teams finished the day with wins in the merit
shield.
The under 10s beat Kewford 2-0 with Mollie Duroe scoring two tremendous goals.
The under 12s West beat West Hagley 2-1, with goals from Megan Ingram and Cara
Tromans, and Chloe Cameron getting player of the match.
The under 12s East registered the same 2-1 score against Tipton, with both
goals coming from player of the match, Jodie Taylor.
The under 14s West continued their unbeaten Merit Shield run with a
comfortable 3-0 win over Kewford. Sophie Round kept Halas in the game with a
penalty save before goals from Katie Wilkes (2) and a clever free kick from
Shanice Mayers made the game safe.
