Halas Hawks under 11s deserved something from their game against in form Black
Country Rangers, but after hitting the post in the first minute, Rangers
scored the only goal of the game shortly afterwards.
Halas matched Rangers in every department and Danny Hodges got man of the
match, but the game was marred by a serious injury to Luke Patton who was
taken to hospital with a broken collar bone after an awkward fall during the
game. Everyone at Halas and Black Country Rangers wishes Luke a speedy
recovery.
The under 7s East continued their unbeaten season with a 10-1 win over Forest
Falcons. The goals came from man of the match Jake Gilson (4), Dan Kelly (3),
Michael Ly (2) and Mark Slater.
The under 7s West lost 3-1 to Penn Colts North with their goal coming from
George Hands and man of the match going to Joseph Wythes.
The under 8s West held off a spirited display from Withymoor but came through
with a 5-2 score line, with goals from Cameron Milne (3), Matt Jones and James
North. Man of the match went to Jamie Theodosi.
The under 8s Dynamos needed to win against Dudley Town and looked as though
they would do it after being two up at half time through James Williams and
Constance Scofield, but Dudley came back strongly
and levelled the score with 32 minutes gone. A last minute defensive error
then saw Dudley grab a 3-2 win.
The under 10s East had a comfortable 6-2 win against Phoenix Youth with Alex
Smith getting a hat trick and their was one each for Jon Rizzo, Reece Marks
and Reece Ashton.
The under 10s North had a disappointing game against Trysull despite a
brilliant goal from Harry Wootton in a 4-1 defeat. Joe Vaughan took man of the
match.
The under 12s had a high scoring game against Withymoor North, but lost 9-4
with goals from Guy Millward (2), Thomas Stevens and man of the match, Cameron
Richards.
In the girls Merit Shield games, the under 12s East beat Dudley Utd 4-2 with
goals from Maisie Allen, Amy Ashmore and joint players of the match, Ellie
Murphy and Eve McGlynn.
The under 14s East were being held 0-0 at half time against Hillcrest but a
change of tactics saw them win 3-0 with Kirsty Houston, Elizabeth Richards and
Olivia Emerson hitting the back of the net.
The under 14s West found it hard going against Kewford South, but a strong
defensive display from Stephanie Wem and goalkeeper, Sophie Round, ensured a
clean sheet, whilst at the other end, Shanice Mayers, Katie Wilkes and Stacey
Jones scored in a 3-0 win.
