Halas Hawks under 7s West welcomed Hasbury in a local derby, which saw them go
two down, but Halas fought back with two goals from George Hands and one
apiece for Cameron Keenan and James Churchill to win the game 4-2. This was an
excellent advertisement for youth football from both of these Halesowen teams.
The under 7s East won a tough game against third place Kingswinford AFC in
convincing style by 7-2. After falling behind to an early goal, Halas took
control and never looked back. Six goals from free-scoring Nick
Clayton-Phillips and one from Michael Ly made it 11 wins from 11 games for top
of the table Hawks. Man of the match went to Matthew Hancox.
The under 8s Dynamos got back to winning ways with a 5 -2 win over Brierley
Hill Bullets West. The goals came from James Williams, Constance Scofield (2)
and James White (2), who got player of the match after coming on in the second
half and changing the match in favour of the Dynamos.
The under 9s had a narrow 1-0 win against Woodsetton Wolves to keep their
unbeaten run going. Jack Guest scored the goal with Kamran Qureshi getting man
of the match.
The under 10s North took on Penn and fully deserved their 4-0 win with goals
from Sam Oakley, Philip Mylona, Harry Wootton and Ben Jennings. Man of the
match went to the hard working Dan Brookes.
The under 10s East traveled to Bilbrook where a poor performance saw them go
down 1-0.
The under 12s met Quinton Eagles in the Merit Shield coming away with a 2-0
win after goals from Chris Swancott and Guy Millward. Man of the match went to
Alex Gregory.
In the girls league, Halas under 12s West lost 7-0 to Longbridge but the under
14s East hit nine against Fens pool without reply. The goals came from Kirsty
Houston (4), Charlotte Rowbottom (2), Olivia Emerson (2) and Elizabeth
Richards.
The under 14s West trounced bottom of the table Stourport, 12-0, with goals
from Shanice Mayers (4), Rebekah Trevis-Smith (3), Stephanie Wem (2), Sophie
Leak, Lauren Pearson and Demi Kimble.
