Halas Hawks Under 7's East were knocked out of the league cup at the semi
final stage after losing a 2 goal lead to Netherton Colts. Jake Gilson and
Michael Ly had put Hawks 2-0 up, but Netherton battled back to win the game
3-2 and book their place in the final.
The under 7s West lost by the same 3-2 scoreline to Duncan Edwards Juniors.
They were 3-0 down before two goals from player of the match, Shannon Stamps,
put them back in contention, but they were unable to find the equalizer.
With no more games left to play in the league the under 8s Dynamos played a
7-a-side friendly against Wordsley Wasps to prepare for next season. Halas
dominated the game throughout winning 10-0 with goals from
Lewis Sidebottom (6) James Williams (2), Alex Gardener and Constance Scofield.
The under 11s turned up with the bare eleven players against Duncan Edwards
Juniors but each and everyone of them pulled out all the stops to register a
6-1 win. Halas raced into a 4-0 half time lead with goals from Joe Ward (2),
Jack Davis and Jack Hipkiss. They continued to dominate in the second half
with Joe Ward completing his
hat trick and a well-deserved goal from Danny Hodges making it 6-0. Duncan
Edwards got a late consolation goal. A very impressive
performance from Charlie Durrell ensured him the man of the match award.
In the girls Merit Shield the under 10s beat Gornal 3-0 with goals coming from
Paige Dudley (2) and Amy Blakemore, but both under 12 teams were knocked out
in the semi-finals.
The under 12s East put tremendous pressure on a strong Angels side but had to
settle for a 1-1 draw after extra time. Charlotte Perks scored their goal but
in the ensuing penalty shoot out, only Maisie Allen found the net whilst
Angels scored four.
The under 12s West battled gamely against Hillcrest but lost 3-0.
Both under 14s teams finished top of their Merit Shield groups. The under 14s
East had a comfortable 4-0 win against Kingswinford with goals from Kirsty
Houston (2), Lydia Bradley and Olivia Emerson.
The under 14s West put on an excellent all round team performance, which saw
them win their game against Fens Pool by 11-2. Lilly Crawshaw got five, with
the others coming from Shanice Mayers (3), Lauren Pearson (2) and Stacey
Jones.
