The performance of the week for Halas Hawks went to the
under 14s West girls, who beat top of the table, Hillcrest, 3-0. Goalkeeper Sophie Round kept the
girls in the game after some first half Hillcrest pressure, but in the second
half, Halas came out strongly with goals from Shanice Mayers (2) and Katie
Wilkes.
The under 10s girls beat West Hagley 2-0, with goals from Mollie Duroe and
Paige Dudley, whilst the under 12s East girls also beat West Hagley, hitting
seven without reply through Maisie Allen (2), Jodie Taylor (2), Charlotte
Perks, Rhianne Murray and player of the match, Ellie Murphy.
The under 12s West girls lost 4-1 to Kewford.
In the boys league the
under 7s West drew for the third game running. Cameron Keenan scored both their goals against Kingsley with Jonty Round getting man
of the match.
The under 7s East had a close encounter with Warstones, but a brace from Nick
Clayton-Phillips and a tremendous winner from man of the match Jake Gilson,
gave them a 3-2 win. Stand in goalkeeper, Mark Slater, pulled off some
tremendous saves to deserve special mention.
The under 8 Dynamos had a comfortable 7-0 win over Forest Falcons, with
Constance Scofield leading the way with a hat trick. The others came from
James Williams, James White, Jacob Stewart and man of the match, Lewis
Sidebottom.
An ever-improving under 9s put on an excellent team performance against Gornal
Colts South, winning 3-0, with goals from Daniel Jennings, Jack Guest and man
of the match, Dominic Hipkiss.
The under 10s North were disappointing in their game against Trysull Tigers,
going down 4-2. Harry Wootton got both goals with man of the match going to
Brady Weston.
The under 10s East continue to display some very skilful football and beat
Phoenix 6-2. Goals came from Alex Smith (3) Ryan Davies (2 - including one
from virtually the half way line) and Reece Marks. Man of the match, for his
hat-trick and all round performance, went to Alex Smith.
The under 11s were two up against Oldswinford through Danny Hodgetts and man
of the match, Jack Hipkiss, but missed chances allowed Oldswinford to pull
level and then score the winner with the last kick of the game.
