Halas Hawks girls were in Merit Shield action last weekend with the under 10s
girls drawing 2-2 with West Hagley, with both goals coming from Mollie Duroe.

The under 14's East continued their run of good form with a 3-1 win over
Angels, a game played in tremendous spirit by both teams. Goals came from
Elizabeth Richards, Olivia Emerson and Catherine Barrett.

The under 14s West had plenty of possession against Withymoor and after
missing several good chances, they went behind to a dubious first half
penalty. Halas continued to maintain their pressure and got a well deserved
equalizer from Katie Wilkes after a strong run and cross from Lilly Crawshaw.
Both teams fought hard for the winner, but there was no further score.

In the boys league, the under 7s West lost 6-4 to Duncan Edwards Juniors with
man of the match, George Hands getting a hat trick and Shannon Stamps the
fourth.

The under 8s Dynamos played their last league game at Wordsley Wasps West and
came away with a convincing 4-0 win after a hat trick from Lewis Sidebottom
and one from James Williams. Man of the match went to James White.

The under 8s West traveled to Kewford, going down 5-2, with their goals coming
from Cameron Milne and Ellis Meredith. Man of the
match went to Jack Evans.

The under 9s met Gornal South and were made to fight all the way in a 2-1 win
helped by an own goal and one from Dominic Hipkiss. Man of the match went to
goalkeeper, Charlie Bagley, whose saves prevented a Gornal equalizer.

The under 10s Dynamos put in a great team effort against Trysull Tigers West
and thoroughly deserved their 4-1 victory with man of the match, Dan Willetts,
getting a hat-trick and Jake Walley also getting on the score sheet.

The under 10s East drew 0-0 with Kingswinford boys in a match they should have
won comfortably. Ryan Taylor was awarded man of the match for a faultless
performance in goal.

The under 11s played host to Duncan Edwards Juniors and made hard work of
their 4-3 win after taking a first minute lead through Jack Hipkiss. Halas
then became complacent and gave away an equaliser, before restoring their lead
through a well taken Danny Hodgetts goal.
The second half saw them race to a 4-1 lead with goals from man of the match,
Joe Ward and a second for Jack Hipkiss, but two late goals from Duncan Edwards
made for a nervy last few minutes for Halas.

The under 13s met MNG Milanco and in very difficult conditions, Halas took the
lead twice but found it hard to hold onto and the game finished 2-2. Halas
goals came from Jack Bennett and Alex Hudson, whilst man of the match went to
Ryan Brookes for an excellent all round performance.

Halas Hawks are proud to welcome children from all ethnic backgrounds.
