Halas Hawks under 7s West scored eight without reply against Bearmore Knights
with George Hands scoring five. Also on target were Matthew Evans (2) and
Shannon Stamps with the man of the match award going to Jack Parton.
The under 7s East continued there 100% record with a 7-1 win over Withymoor
Colts South. A slow start by Halas saw Withymoor take an early lead, but a
great response from Hawks bought them in at half time leading 4-1. Three
further goals were added in the second half to ensure Hawks finish the year at
the top of the table.
Goalscorers were man of the match Nick Clayton-Phillips with 4 and one each
from Michael Ly, Jake Gilson and Matthew Hancox.
The under 8s Dynamos entertained Millfields FC and although they dominated the
early stages of the game, they had to wait until the second half before James
Williams scored the only goal of the game. Halas began to tire towards the end
of the game, but a man of the match performance from Lewis Sidebottom ensured
all three points.
The under 8s East thrashed Phoenix 14-0 with Ben Clarke getting a double hat
trick. Also on target was man of the match, Cain Smith (2), Bradley Cox (2),
Dan Cartwright (2), Ellis Byrne and Jordan Staten.
The under 9s extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 4-1 win over West
Hagley South with man of the match, Dominic Hipkiss, getting a brace and Ronan
Thompson and Daniel Jennings one each.
The under 10s Dynamos had Dan Willetts to thank for scoring the only goal of
the game against Penn Colts, to maintain their recent run of good form. Man of
the match went to Ben Hart.
The under 11s started brightly but missed chances and found themselves a goal
down against the run of play. However, they didn’t lose heart and went in at
half time 4-1 up. A further two second half goals gave them a 6-1 win. Danny
Hodges and Luke Patton got a brace each with the others coming from Jack Davis
and, man of the match, Jack Hipkiss.
The under 12s lost 1-0 to Kingswinford with Charlie Jones getting man of the
match and the under 13s lost 11-0 to runaway leaders Codsall, but all credit
to the team for not giving up and showing great determination to the final
whistle. Man of the Match went to "Ice" Stockton who leaves in the new year
for his native Thailand.
In the girls league, the under 12s West went through to the next round of the
cup with a 4-0 win against Wordsley. The goals came from Megan Ingram and
Elizabeth McAleenan with a brace each.
The under 14s West had a tough game against Withymoor, knowing they had to win
to stay within reach of the league leaders, and win they did with goals from
Shanice Mayers (2) and Katie Wilkes, which gave them a 3-1 win.
