Halas Hawks 3 v Sedley Town Girls 1
Friendly
A great display by the girls saw them well
in control and with good shape despite only having 11 players .
A quick mention and thank you to Liz McAleenan volunteering to
play in goal . A brace from Kate Duffy and a fantastic one from
a free kick from Kate Drew saw them out as winners . Player of
the match was Poppy Weston .

Halas Hawks 5 v Wordsley Wasps 0
League
A first half of containment saw the U16
girls go in one up at half time courtesy of Kate Duffy with her
first goal of the season . The second half saw the home team
step it up and a great through ball from Zoe Tidman after taking
the ball up a third of the pitch to Liz McAleenan saw her double
the lead . And a first goal , in fact a hat trick from player of
the match Kelly Gorman saw Halas wrap up the points .
07/01/2012
Ferndale Youth 1 v Halas Hawks 4
League Cup
A great performance by the U16 girls
considering they have not had a competitive game for 7 weeks .
They began strongly keeping the ball in the opponents half and
after 15 mins were rewarded with a goal by Liz McAleenan who was
first to pounce on a ball bouncing around the area . The score
was doubled a few minuets later by player of the match Charlotte
Little who again was first to the ball in the area then on the
stroke of halftime Lauren Taylor made it three with a fantastic
individual effort . Just after the break the game was made safe
with a well taken goal from Kate Drew .

Wordsley Wasps 0 v Halas Hawks 3
League
The U16 girls got back to winning ways this
week as they visited Wordlsey . On a pitch that did no favours
to football the girls just had to battle it out which they did
brilliantly . A first half brace from Kate Drew saw them to half
time . And in the second half a deft side foot that would have
been easier to miss from a difficult ball saw Liz McAleenan add
to the score . The midfield had to be strong today and it was
with Kate Hunnisett taking Player of the match .
12/11/2011
Warriors 7 v Halas Hawks 2
County Cup
The U16 girls were guilty again this week of
not competing in the first half and by the break found
themselves four down . But a spirited display saw them hit two
in two minuets with goals from Liz McAleenan and Lauren Taylor
and although they kept the pressure on Warriors goal throughout
the second half they were caught on the break . Player of the
match was Katie Hickman .
05/11/2011
Halas Hawks 4 v Ferndale Youth 0
League
A very assured performance by the U16 girls
saw them take all three points against Ferndale . The visitors
started strongly and had a number of corners but the Halas
defence that was solid throughout the game , held firm . The
scoring began with Lauren Taylor netting direct from a corner .
Kate Drew then made her trademark runs onto through balls to bag
herself a brace and it was topped off , before half time , with
a terrific strike from Liz McAleenan from 30 yards . The second
half was seen out with goalie Olivia Woollams in control
Player of the match was Charlotte Little .
29/10/2011
Ferndale Youth 1 v Halas Hawks 4
League
There were chances a plenty for the U16
girls with Charlotte Little hitting the post from a corner early
on and that signalled the visitors intent with Kate Drew hitting
a hat trick before half time . Ferndale came out strong for the
beginning of the second half but Halas soaked up the pressure as
Drewy hit a fourth with the home team getting a consolation with
the last kick of the game .
A great game too by player of the match Kate
Duffy .
22/10/2011
Withymoor Colts 2 v Halas Hawks 0
League
A great first half performance from the U16
girls saw them take the game to top of the table Withymoor .
They outplayed them on all parts of the field had a number of chances
, going very close but unfortunately
could not find the back of the net . The second half was a more
even affair but if they carry on playing like this , the results
will come .
Player of the match was Rebecca Ingram .
08/10/2011
Netherton Colts 2 v Halas Hawks 6
Birmingham County Cup
The U16 girls got their County cup campaign
off to a great start with this win over old rivals Netherton .
Halas took control of the match from the first whistle and were
rewarded after 10 mins with a break through from Kate Drew . The
home team levelled with a ball that bounced off the post and in
. The visitors then stepped it up after the break and a further
hat trick from Drewy plus a brace from Liz McAleenan including a
stunning free kick saw them progress to the next round . Player
of the match was Gemma Stokes who ran the midfield .
24/09/2011
Halas Hawks 2 v Withymoor Colts 4
League
The U16 girls put in a much improved
performance from last week against top of the table Withymoor
and although they were three down by halftime the score did not
reflect how many chances they created . After the break they
stepped it up a gear and a brace from player of the match , Kate
Drew , pulled the home team right back into it but unfortunately
chasing the game they left spaces at the back and the visitors
made the game safe in the closing moments .
17/09/2011
Droitwich Spa Lions 4 v Halas Hawks 0
League
Halas began the season slowly and were not
in the game physically for the first 20 minuets and by that time
the damage had been done . Although unlucky with the nature of
the goals they need to step it up a notch from the first whistle
and not the one for the beginning of the second half that saw a
much better performance . Player of the match was Liz McAleenan
who was busy in midfield .
And a get well soon to Chloe
Biddlestone who suffered concussion .
10/09/2011
Droitwich Spa Lions 5 v Halas Hawks 1
Friendly
A great team effort but Droitwich gave the
visitors a lesson in finishing in this friendly .
Halas played some great football throughout
this game but were marshalled well by a solid home defence . And
although they deserved more than the one that was scored by
Lauren Taylor , it was not their day today . Player of the match
was Chloe Biddlestone who was a constant thorn in the opponents
side .
03/09/2011
Dudley Sports 1 v Halas Hawks 2
Friendly
Halas got the first game of the season under
their belts with a good performance . Every one of the team put
in a shift and considering half of them only came back off
holiday late this week , lasted well .
Goals either side of half time and a Dudley
sports goal from forwards Lauren Taylor & Kate Drew saw them
just edge it .
But player of the match was Livvi Woollams
who continued between the sticks as she finished last season ,
fabulously
