Match Reports
14/05/2011
Halas Hawks 0 v Withymoor Colts 4
League
The mounting list of injuries finally
became too much for for the U15 girl's in their final game of
the season playing the league winners . The visitors scored
after five minuets but then Halas began exerting pressure of
there own coming close on several occasions but were unable to
put the finishing touch to a goal scoring opportunity .
The second half was more of the same but a
knock to Katie Hickman took the home team down to eight and this
was when Withymoor struck . To be fair to the girls though their
heads never dropped and they kept on trying right to the final
whistle . Player of the match was Rebecca Ingram .
11/05/2011
Withymoor Colts 1 v Halas Hawks 1
League
This midweek game was an absolute cracker
with the U15 Girl's facing a team that not been defeated this
season and challenging to be league champions . It got off to a
flying start with both teams going close in early exchanges and
the game did not slow down at any point . It was Halas who took
the lead midway through the first half with Cara Tromans doing
one of her trademark long throw-ins into a congested area that
caused confusion with the ball ending up in the back of the net
. Withymoor then equalised five minutes before the break . All
through the second half both teams were at it hammer and tongs
with great chances but even better saves from the keepers at
both ends to end honours even . Player of the match was Kate
Hunnisett who throughout the game covered every blade of grass .
07/05/2011
Droitwich Spa Lions 1 v Halas Hawks 1
League
The U15 Girl's continued their unbeaten
run-in toward the end of the season with this well deserved draw
against a classy side . Halas took the game to the hosts early
on and had several chances in the first quarter . Droitwich then
came back strongly and this was how the game played out
throughout the match . Halas went one up midway through the
first half thanks to Chloe Biddlestone who , after a good
passing phase found herself with just enough time to flick the
ball over the keeper and into the net . Droitwich levelled
midway second half that set the game up for a frantic finish
with chances at both ends . Player of the match was captain Zoe
Tidman who did not put a foot wrong throughout the match .
27/04/2011
Ferndale Youth 1 v Halas Hawks 1
Friendly
Big thanks to Ferndale for giving us this
11 a side friendly . Due to injury , illness & holidays the U15
girls were only able to play five of their players in their
normal positions but this was a good day to test players .
Congratulations also to Poppy & Gemma who played their first
game in Halas colours and both did well . The game itself was a
very open affair with good chances being created at both ends
and it was all level going in at half time . It was midway
through the second half when Chloe Biddlestone found herself
free in the area with time to place the ball in the back of the
net . Ferndale then went up the other end to equalise almost
immediately . Halas tired towards the end with no subs available
but the make shift defence and player of the match , stand-in
keeper Liz McAleenan (with a dodgy knee) managed to keep the
home team out for a well deserved draw. Well done to all
involved ! .
16/04/2011
Halas Hawks 2 v Kidderminster Lions 1
League
An under strength Halas team put in an
absolutely fantastic effort against a team challenging for a top
two position . Kidderminster put the pressure on in the first
half but were kept in check by stout defending with captain Zoe
Tidman marshalling well , unfortunately , Kiddi scored on the
stroke of halftime . As usual Halas came into the game at the
restart and a snaking run and cross from Lauren Taylor saw
Hannah Williams lash the ball into the back of the net . With
more Halas pressure , Charlotte Little the had a speculative
shot that deceived the keeper to put the home team ahead . Kiddi
tried in vain to level but were kept out by a string of stunning
saves from player of the match Olivia Woollams .
05/02/2011
Halas Hawks 3 v Netherton Colts 3
League
This midweek game was a very see-saw
affair with three goals in the first ten minuets . First to
score was Chloe Biddlestone with a great chip over an advancing
keeper . Netherton then went on to score two one a free header ,
the second trickled over the line with Rebecca Ingram unable to
keep it out . Halas then levelled before halftime through Lauren
Taylor with a thumping strike . The second half saw it just as
frantic and the home team took the lead again with a second from
player of the match Chloe Biddlestone . Netherton then levelled
, and although the home team put tremendous pressure on in the
closing stages , they were unable to find a winner .
02/04/2011
Netherton Colts 0 v Halas Hawks 2
League
Games against Netherton are always very
physical encounters and this one was no exception . The first
half was very evenly matched but in the second half , as they
have all season , Halas were the more composed and the chances
began to come . From one of these Chloe Biddlestone picked up a
fantastic cross ball from Lauren Taylor to slot home . The
points were sewn up with five minuets to go with a well deserved
goal from eight yards out by player of the match , Kate
Hunnisett .
26/03/2011
Halas Hawks 2 v Wordsley Wasps 0
League
A very assured performance by the U15
Girls saw them win 2 0 over local rivals Wordsley . The visitors
began strongly but Halas soaked up everything that was thrown at
them and after a time began to take charge of the game and in a
two minuet , first half spell the game was sealed with a great
goal from Chloe Biddlestone and one from player of the match
Hannah Williams who registered her first goal of the season . In
the second half there could have been more but for the finishing
touch .
This was a excellent team effort .
19/03/2011
Ferndale Youth 1 v Halas Hawks 3
League
The U15 girls worked hard for their win against a Ferndale side
who have greatly improved over the last few months . Halas
were feeding the front players well and it was only a matter of
time before Kate Drew ran onto such a ball , beat the defender
and stuck it in the back of the net . Ferndale then equalised on
the stroke of halftime . Cara Tromans manage to stop the ball on
the goal line but an advancing forward forced it in . The second
half began with a penalty awarded to the home team but Livi
Woollams made a fantastic save . Halas then took control
and a first goal in Halas colours for Charlotte Little and one
from player of the match Lauren Taylor saw them take the points
.
12/03/2011
Halas Hawks 0 v Droitwitch Spa Lions 6
League
The U15 Girls had a strange day in that
they could play like this again and win . It was one of those
days when the bounce in front of goal they were defending did
them no favours , and also at the attacking end it was the same
story with the home team hitting the crossbar twice within a few
minuets . Player of the match was Charlotte Little who was
excellent in defence in the first half and then even better in
midfield after the break .
05/03/2011
Kidderminster Lions 4 v Halas Hawks 0
League
The U15 Girls gave themselves a mountain
to climb after giving away three soft goals in the first quarter
of this match away at Kidderminster . But although they went
another one down early in the second half they grew in
confidence and were unlucky on several occasions not to pull the
score back . Kate Drew was player of the match with a very
strong performance up front and keeper Livi Woollams made some
fantastic saves .
12/02/2011
Halas Hawks 1 v Droitwitch Spa Lions 4
Cup
A below par performance saw the U15
girls get knocked out of the cup at the semi final stage . The
visitors started strongest and mix ups at the back cost two
goals in the first 10 minuets . Halas tried to get back into the
game and had some chances but Droitwich went on to score again
either side of half time . Lauren Taylor got a consolation goal
midway through the second half but it was not enough on the day
. Player of the match was Katie Hickman who never stopped trying
until the final whistle .
05/02/2011
Dudley Sports U16 Girls 6 v Halas Hawks
4
Friendly
The U15 girls had a tough game playing in
full sized goals on a pitch larger than they are used to but
came out all guns blazing and went two up courtesy of Chloe
Biddlestone who managed to squeeze one in from a tight angle &
Rhianne Murray who made one of her trademark lobs over the
keeper . But Dudley came back hard and hit four without reply
before half time due to the tiredness of the small squad that
turned out for this game . Matters got worse when Chloe could
not continue the second half due to injury . But the eight
players of Halas battled all the way and more than matched
Dudley with a second for Rhianne and a cracker from Kate Drew .
Congratulations to Kate Duffy who played her first full game and
won player of the match .
22/01/2011
Halas Hawks 5 v Kidderminster Lions 0
Cup
The U15 girls continued their impressive
start to the new year with this win over a very good
Kidderminster Lions side in the cup .
They put pressure on the visitors from the
first whistle and got their rewards after 15 mins from Kate
Hunnisett with Liz McAleenan doubling the lead before the break
. They began the second half as they had the first and a brace
from Kate Drew in-between a Rhianne Murray goal saw them
progress the semi finals in grand fashion . Player of the match
was Rebecca Ingram who was solid in defence .
15/01/2011
Wordsley Wasps 0 v Halas Hawks 4
League
The U15 girls continued the way they
finished their last game , very strongly but it took about 20
minuets before they finally had the ball in the back of the net
. A great ball across the goalmouth saw player of the match ,
Chloe Biddleston score from a very tight angle . The second came
a few minuets later from Rhianne Murray . In the second half
Wordsley had a few chances but keeper Livi Woollams was in no
mood to concede a goal and the match was wrapped up with Liz
McAleenan and Lauren Taylor both scoring .
08/01/2011
Halas Hawks 6 v Ferndale Youth Girls 0
League
In their first game for two months the U15
Girls started the game unsurprisingly slowly and for the first
ten minuets were second best . But after that they clicked into
gear with some great passing , through balls and fantastic goals
from Kate Drew (2) , Liz McAleenan (2) , Lauren Taylor and a
great lobbed one from Rhianne Murray in a commanding performance
.
Player of the match was Charlotte Little
who was not scared to put her head in
where it could hurt .
06/11/2010
Halas
Hawks 1 v Withymoor Colts 3
League
A
very entertaining game of football was witnessed as the U15's took
on top of the league Withymoor . Halas did not stand on ceremony
and took the game to the visitors outplaying them on all parts of
the field .
In
the end , the difference between the two teams was the clinical
finishing in front of goal . Liz McAleenan scored a fantastic free
kick but player of the match was keeper Olivia Woollams who was absolutely
awesome . Well done to the whole team . You should be proud of
yourselves
30/10/2010
Halas
Hawks Home 3 v Halas Hawks Away 2
Friendly
Another
close fought game between the two teams saw the victory go to the
home team with a hat trick from Kate Drew . Scorers for the away
team were Kate Hunnisett and Rhianne Murray . Big thanks for all
the help and special mentions to Sophie Kinsey and Elliot Tidman
.
16/10/2010
Netherton
Colts 3 v Halas Hawks 4
League
The
girls had a very physical encounter against a Netherton side that
have begun the season well . Halas settled quicker though and went
in at half time two up thanks to Liz McAleenan and Lauren Taylor .
After the break though Netherton rallied and scored three without
reply . Halas then dug deep and were rewarded an equalizer , a
second from player of the match Liz Mc . Then , with ten minuets
to go Kate Drew picked the ball up in her own half , rode several
challenges and from the edge of the area hit a wonder goal that
gave the visitors all three points .
09/10/2010
Halas
Hawks 4 v Wordsley Wasps 1
League
The
girls got their first win of the season with a fantastic display
against their neighbours Wordsley . The first half was a very tight
affair especially at the beginning but then Halas began to exert
some pressure and from a corner Katie Hickman somehow managed to
get a few seconds in the area to score near post.
Wordsley
then got a fortunate goal from a cleared ball that dipped in right
under the crossbar giving keeper Olivia Woollams no chance .
As
the second half got under way Halas really stepped it up and were
rewarded with goals from Lauren Taylor , Kate Drew & Player of
the match Kate Hunnisett .
02/10/2010

25/09/2010
Ferndale
Youth Girls 2 v Halas Hawks 2
League
The
girls had to settle for a draw against Ferndale in a match that
was very end to end . Rhianne Murray opened the scoring just after
the half-time break with a deft touch from a tight angle . The
home team were then awarded a penalty but Halas again went ahead
again through Lauren Taylor . Halas then squandered a number of
chances to make the game safe only for Ferndale to equalize with
the last kick of the game . Player of the match was Cara Tromans
.
18/09/2010
Halas Hawks 0 v Droitwich Spa Lions 2
League
A
much improved performance from the U15 girls saw them battle hard
against Droitwich and they had their chances too but unfortunately
were unable to register a goal whereas the visitors managed twice
to somehow bundle the ball across the goal line . Player of the
match was Lauren Taylor with some fantastic runs and tackles
.
11/09/2010
Halas
Hawks 2 v Kidderminster Lions 5
League
The
U15 Girl's had a tough first game of the season against a
Kidderminster side that wanted the game more in the first half and
went in three up . However after the break Halas began to believe
in themselves and scored twice , one from Lauren Taylor and the
other from Rhianne Murray but it was too little too late on this
occasion . Player of the match was Kate Hunnisett who transformed
the game when she came on off the bench.
04/09/2010
Dudley
Sports U16's 6 v Halas Hawks 2
Friendly
The
U15 Girls kicked off their season with a very good performance
against a strong Dudley side . To their credit they had plenty of
chances and passed the ball around well , unfortunately going down
to a goal that was a cross/shot . Dudley then scored twice more
before half time . Halas came out second half and grabbed the game
by the scruff of the neck by scoring twice in five minutes . The
first by Kate Hunnisett , a great ball across the field that she
ran onto and hit into the net and the second by Katie Drew who was
played through and gave the keeper no chance . This sparked Dudley
back into life who went on to make the game safe . Player of the
match was Zoe Tidman who had a fantastic debut in a Halas Shirt
.
