Halas Hawks Junior
Football Club was established in 1980 specifically to promote and
develop youth football in the local area. Our Birmingham County
affiliation numbers are FMU01446 and FGU01445.
Halas Hawks is now in
its 28th season and after 27 successful years, is regarded as one
of the largest youth development clubs in the area. Halas now run
twenty four teams playing at a competitive level, ranging from
under 7’s (mini soccer) through to under 18’s, including eight
girls only football teams. The teams play in various leagues
according to the managers preference and are well represented in
the Stourbridge and Stourport leagues.
At the end of each
season all registered players attend a presentation evening, where
they receive a trophy supplied and paid for by the club. The club
also runs what is probably the longest running annual 5-a-side
tournament in the area, having just completed its 19th
competition, which attracted teams from as far away as Lichfield,
Stoke and Warwick.
The club is run by a
committee, which comprises of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Club
Secretary, Club Treasurer, Club Welfare Officer and all individual
team managers. A committee meeting is held on a monthly basis to
discuss the overall running of the club, any issues arising, and
to assist team managers with their responsibility for the day to
day activities associated with running a team.
In line with the F.A.
Charter Standard requirements, all managers/coaches are CRB
checked and hold a minimum Level 1 coaching qualification. This
also means that the Club must demonstrate and document such things
as a child protection policy, code of conduct, disciplinary
procedures, accounts, a management committee plus many other
requirements.
